Sumo's print size guide

Starting sizes for the most common placements. Measure your garment and adjust: a size that looks right on an adult large can swallow a youth small.

Placing the transfer

Fold to find the center. Press a light crease down the middle of the shirt and line the design up with it.
Measure from the collar seam. Keep the same distance for every size in a run so the set looks consistent.
Pockets and left chest. Center the design between the placket and the side seam, level with the armpit line.
Tape it down. Heat tape stops the film from shifting when the press closes.

Questions printers ask

What size transfer should I order for a shirt?

Our print size guide starts at 10 × 10 in for adult small sizes and 11 × 14 in for adult large sizes, 8 × 8 in for youth shirts and 6 × 6 in for toddler shirts. Measure the garment and adjust from there.

What size is a pocket or hat print?

The guide uses 4 × 4 in for pocket prints and 4 × 2 in for hats. Press hats on a hat press with the hat setting from our press guide.

Can I order one design at an exact size?

Yes. Order DTF by size: one design at the exact size you need, in any quantity. The price per square inch drops as the quantity goes up.
