How to apply DTF transfers

  1. Set up the press

    Set the heat for your machine from the press guide and lay the garment flat on the press.

  2. Center and press

    Center the DTF transfer on the garment, close the press and hold it for the time listed for your machine.

  3. Peel hot

    Peel the film back while it is still hot, and you're done.

What is a DTF transfer?
DTF, or Direct To Film, is a printing technique where any design and color are printed directly onto a film, which is then transferred with a heat press to cotton, polyester and blends. The press guide lists the settings for your machine.
What is the minimum I can order?
No minimums. Whether you need 1 or 100,000, we’ve got you covered.
How does the gang sheet builder work?
Pick a sheet length, 22 inches wide and from 1 to 30 feet long, then place, size and duplicate as many designs as fit. The longer the sheet, the lower the price per foot; a 1 ft DTF sheet starts at $6.95. Priority production and pre-cut are options inside the builder. Build a gang sheet.
What if I don’t want to build a sheet myself?
Order DTF transfers by size: upload each design at the size you need, and the price per square inch drops as your quantity grows. Already have a print-ready 22-inch file? Upload your gang sheet.
Which file format should I use for my artwork?
For the best results, we recommend vector art, and if using raster art, ensure it’s at least 300 dpi. Preferred file formats include AI, PDF and EPS, while we also accept JPG and PNG files. Uploaded gang sheets should be 22 inches wide at 300 DPI with a transparent background (PNG, PDF, AI, TIFF, PSD or EPS).
What sizes are available?
Gang sheets are 22 inches wide and up to 30 feet long, and every design on the sheet prints at the size you set in the builder. For single designs, order DTF transfers by size and upload each one at the size you need.
How do transfers hold up in the wash?
Our transfers have undergone rigorous testing on a wide range of garments and are tested for 100+ washes.
What is UV DTF?
UV DTF transfers are peel-and-stick transfers for hard surfaces such as glass, plastic, metal and wood. No heat press needed. Build a UV gang sheet.
Can I try the transfers before I order?
Yes. The free sample pack holds a DTF sheet, a UV DTF sheet and a user manual. The pack is $0.00; you pay shipping. Package protection ($2.49) is added in the cart by default, and you can turn it off there.
What kind of press do I need?
We publish settings for industrial, manual, Cricut and hat presses; the press guide on this page has the heat and time for each one.
What temperature and time should I press at?
Industrial press: 300°F for 7 seconds. Manual press: 310°F for 10 seconds. Cricut press: 335°F for 20 seconds. Hat press: 230°F for 8 seconds. Then peel the film hot.
How quickly can I get my order?
Orders placed before the weekday cutoff ship the same business day; the countdown at the top of the page shows how much time is left. Orders placed after the cutoff ship the next business day: the countdown then says tomorrow, or Monday after Friday’s cutoff. Personalized requests such as background removal or color fixes can delay same-day dispatch.
How much is shipping?
Transfers ship UPS Express (1–3 days): free on transfer orders $99+ and $12.90 flat below that. Faster UPS Next Day Air options are shown at checkout at live rates. Details are in our shipping policy.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes, at our Dallas Store: 11969 Plano Rd, Suite 190, Dallas, TX 75243. Choose pickup at checkout; each product page shows current pickup availability.
What if my package is lost or damaged?
Add Package Protection in the cart. If a protected shipment is lost, stolen or damaged, we reprint and reship it once for free, and claims are approved within 1 business day. The fee depends on your cart value.
How do blank apparel orders ship?
Blank apparel ships separately from the apparel warehouse via UPS: flat $29.90, free when your blanks total $275 or more. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US territories: flat $199, with no free-shipping threshold.
What is Royal membership?
Royal membership is $49.90 a month: 25% off DTF, UV DTF and ready-to-press transfers. The member discount cannot be combined with other discount codes and excludes pre-made gang sheets, cup wraps, pre-cut, the sample pack, Machines & Supplies and blank apparel. See Royal membership.
Do you sell DTF by the roll?
Yes. The DTF upload page sells a half roll (165 ft for $559.95, $3.39 per ft) and a whole roll (330 ft for $999.95, $3.03 per ft), against $4.00 per ft on a 30 ft sheet. Upload your artwork as transparent 22-inch-wide files in 360-inch segments: 6 files for a half roll, 11 for a whole roll. Rolls are DTF only.
Can my account be tax exempt?
Yes. Upload your resale or exemption certificate (PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB) on the sales tax exemption page. Your account is usually tax-exempt within minutes.
What is your refund policy?
We don’t take returns unless the mistake is ours or items arrive missing or damaged. Report missing or damaged items within 48 hours; replacements are decided case by case. You can cancel within 2 hours of ordering (30 minutes for overnight orders). Read the full refund policy.
Do you sell blank shirts and hoodies?
Yes: 2,363 blank styles with no minimums and mix-and-match sizes, at print-shop pricing and in the same checkout as your transfers. Browse blank apparel.
